Mentor to Honor Football Legends at Oct. 4 & 11 Home Games
Historic teams, players and coaches are invited back to be recognized during the games against Shaker Heights and Brunswick
Famous faces from the history of Mentor football will return to their alma mater Oct. 4 and 11 to be honored at home games.
Some of the Cardinals' greatest players, coaches and teams have been invited for receptions and on-field presentations when the Cardinals take on Shaker Heights and Brunswick, according to OhioVarsity.com. The invitees are the same players and coaches whose names, numbers and years are recognized on affixed signs near the press box at Jerome T. Osborne Stadium.
“To go back to look at the greats and who started it was important,” coach Steve Trivisonno told the website. “We felt it was important for our kids to look back at the great ones who have been doing it for a long time and embrace the history of the program.
“They need to understand how long some really good football has been played around here."
