Five Things to Know Following the Weekend's Flood

From assistance to mold prevention, here's a quick guide to aid you in the flood's aftermath.

Floods are bad enough to deal with, but the aftermath and clean-up efforts can be difficult as well.

The Lake County General Health District and City of Mentor offered some guidance Monday to help homeowners prevent further issues.

  • Remember, those with significant damage can become part of a Lake County application for federal relief funding. Click here to find out how.
  • People who cannot disinfect their home own their own can call 2-1-1 from a landline or 440-639-4420 for assistance.
  • City crews will be removing storm damaged debris and trash placed at curbs. Lake County Commissioners are providing free disposal at the Lake County landfill, 2039 Blase Nemeth Road in Painesville, for impacted property owners. Call the city at 440-255-1100 for direct assistance.
