How To Register For Mentor's Integrated Preschool
Preschool is both for children with special needs and typically developing peers
Registration for Mentor Schools' integrated preschool begins at 8 a.m. Feb 10. in the district's administrative building. Parents with a kid who will be 3 to 5 years old by September can register their child, as long as they are potty trained and live in Mentor. The integrated preschool pairs kids with special needs and typically developing peers in the same class. Each of the preschool teachers has a master's degree in special education and the classes' curriculum is in line with the state's early learning standards. Children attend four half-days per week, Monday through Thursday, throughout the school year at Ridge Middle School. The preschool costs $900 per school year. I would highly recommend this program. My younger son went through it due to his disability. He was not able to deal with "typical" pre school. The teachers are great, and the kids are just so very accepting of each other!! more ›
