Planning Commission Approves Final Site Plan For Osborne Office Complex

Planning Commission voted 6-1 to approve the plan for the complex at the intersection of Bellflower and Center Street

The Mentor Planning Commission approved the final site plan for Rick Osborne Jr.'s office complex during its meeting Thursday night at City Hall. The proposed office complex will consist of three 3,200-square-foot buildings at the southwest corner of Bellflower and Center Street. Each building will be divided into two units. Originally, the 7-acre property was zoned for single-family homes. However, in Nov. 2003, voters approved an initiative petition from Osborne to rezone it for business. Before the Commission approved the final site plan Thursday, its members had some questions for Osborne. Commission Member Sean Blake asked if a barrier could be put between the building closest to the interstate and the highway. Osborne said it could. …

That "crapville" does quite a substantial amount of business through the year and is just packed during the holidays,as one could easily tell by the parking lot being FULL. The "tone" it has been setting is steady tax dollars pouring into the city because these stores are much easier on the wallet,(or purse) than trying to shop at the mall. Planning Commission Tables Final Site Plan For Proposed Osborne Office Complex

The Planning Commission also passed the final site plan for Classic Auto's newest dealership

The Planning Commission approved the final site plan for Classic Auto's redesigned Ford Lincoln dealership at its meeting Tuesday, but it tabled the final site plan for Rick Osborne Jr.'s proposed office complex at the southwest corner of Bellflower and Center Street. Planning Commission Chairman Bill Snow asked Richard Cantanzriti, the consultant who spoke on behalf of the Osborn project at the meeting, if the office complex had any tenants yet. "I'm not aware of that," Cantanzriti said. Snow replied that he was concerned about having half-built buildings that remained unfinished while its owner looked for tenants. Snow said that would look especially bad in the case, were it to happen, because the buildings would be in a high-visiibility…

Rick Osborne Jr. wants to build an office complex at the intersection of Bellflower and Center Street

The Planning Commission approved the preliminary site plan for Rick Osborne Jr.'s proposed office complex during its meeting Thursday. The proposed office complex would consist of three 3,200-square-foot buildings at the southwest corner of Bellflower and Center Street. Each building would be divided into two units. Originally, the 7-acre property was zoned for single-family homes. However, in Nov. 2003, voters approved an initiative petition from Osborne to rezone it for business. "Even when it was zoned residential, it wasn't ideal for building houses," said Ric Spence, the planning adminstrator for the city of Mentor.
