Talbots' Future at Great Lakes Mall Is Uncertain
The women's clothing store may close, may relocate in the Mentor mall
Great Lakes Mall owner Simon Property Group is in negotiations with Talbots, a popular women’s clothing retailer, in hopes that it will remain at Mentor’s largest retail center. The possible closing of Talbots comes after the recently announced multimillion-dollar renovation of the Great Lakes Mall that is expected to begin in mid-April. “We need that (Talbots) space to facilitate one of the features of the renovation,” says Renee Lanzara, Great Lakes Mall director of marketing and business development. “But we are working with Talbots to relocate to another store space during the renovation or return to a new store space after the renovation is completed.
