The PopTarts concluded the library's summer concert series with the great girl group hits of the 1960s

The PopTarts will perform all the hits from the girl groups of the 1960s
The inaugural summer concert series at Mentor Public Library comes to a close today with a performance from The PopTarts. They will dance to and sing all the great girl group hits of the 1960s. The performance is free. It begins at 6 p.m. on the Read House's lawn. (The Read House is next door the library's main branch on Mentor Avenue.) Tom Todd will perform the music of Jimmy Buffett at the Read House tonight
The Mentor Public Library's summer concert series continues at 6 p.m. today with musician/singer Tom Todd performing a tribute to Jimmy Buffett. The performance is free and will be on the Read House's lawn. (The Read House is next door the library's main branch on Mentor Avenue.) The show is family friendly and no registration is required. For more information, call the library at 440-255-8811, ext. 215 or visit the MPL web site. The concert series ends on Aug. 15 with the groovy music of the 1960s, courtesy of The PopTarts. Here's your last chance to party at Civic Center Park this summer
The city of Mentor's summer concert series comes to an end tonight with a performance from Chance, an incredible 10-piece show dance band plays everything from Sinatra to Motown and more. They will perform a pair of free shows tonight starting at 7 p.m. at Civic Center Park's amphitheater. Visitors should bring blankets or lawn chairs and a picnic dinner to the concerts. The performances will be moved indoors to the Civic Ice Arena if it’s raining. The summer concert series will return again next year. All the concerts this summer were sponsored by several area businesses.

Shockwave -- the penultimate performer in the city of Mentor's summer concert series -- took the stage last week at Civic Center Park and they weren't giving it back. Journey tribute band plays pair of free concerts at Mentor park
The city of Mentor's summer concert series continued Tuesday with a performance from Arrival, the Journey tribute band. And while the tunes may have been Journey's, the stage was all theirs. Hundreds of people gathered at Civic Center Park to hear "Open Arms," "Don't Stop Believing" and other famous Journey hits. The concert was sponsored by Lake Health.
