About 100 runners and supporters from the area paid tribute to those affected by the tragedy in Boston
Some walked, others ran, but every person came to Mentor High School Tuesday night to honor Boston. About 100 runners from Mentor and beyond attended a candlelight vigil to pay tribute to the three lives and 170-plus injures that followed explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The staff at Second Sole in Mentor organized the event Tuesday after an employee read that the Boston Athletic Association was encouraging groups across the country to pay tribute to the victims by lighting candles, saying prayers and running a mile. Store owner Bill Dennison quickly got approval from Mentor Schools to hold the event. Second Sole sprinted ahead of the competition
Second Sole is clearly first in your hearts. The running store ran away with this Readers' Choice poll, which asked what your favorite sporting goods store in Mentor is. Second Sole received three times as many votes as the second-place store, Dick's Sporting Goods. (To be fair, I should mention that Gander Mountain only trailed Dick's by a single vote.) I love second sole mentor! The advice and service can not be compared!! Congrats second sole! I'm so excited to run some Great Cleveland XC races this summer.
