Michael Yeckley was sentenced to nine years in prison for crimes involving 13- and 15-year-old girls
One of Michael Yeckley's victims -- a 13-year-old girl -- talked in court about what she went through after Yeckley plied her with alcohol during a party at a Mentor motel and sexually battered her while he had another partygoer film it. She said she was insulted at school and threatened on Facebook. She was accused of being a liar and promiscuous. "I lived in constant fear of being beat up," she said. She dyed and cut her hair so people would not recognize her. She thought about hurting herself. "I feel like I will never have a normal life," she told Lake County Common Pleas Judge Joseph Gibson. Michael Yeckley will be sentenced Jan. 9 after he pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual conduct, pandering obscenity and sexual battery last Monday in Lake County Court of Common Pleas. Yeckley, 22, of Willowick, was arrested after incidents involving two different teenage girls in Mentor and Eastlake. Yeckley brought a 13-year-old girl to a motel in Mentor on April 21, plied her with alcohol and then had sex with her, according to Mentor police. Additionally, other people were in the motel room at the time and Yeckley had someone else tape the sex act, according to prosecutors. Yeckley was initially charged with rape in this case. Rape suspect Michael Yeckley was arraigned Monday morning in Mentor Municipal Court. Yeckley, 21, of Willowick, was arrested on a warrant Friday evening. Yeckley is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said. Yeckley is suspected of bringing the girl to a motel in Mentor on April 21, plying her with alcohol and then having sex with her, Powers said. Attorney Joseph Morse represented Yeckley in court Monday. He told Mentor Municipal Court Judge John Trebets that Yeckley, as a "life-long member of the community," would not try to run away. Police arrested rape suspect Michael Yeckley Friday evening in Cleveland, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page. Mentor Police Department posted on their Facebook page Friday afternoon that Yeckley, 21, of Willowick, had a warrant issued for his arrest. That same day police received a tip from the public that led to Yeckley's arrest. No additional details regarding Yeckley's arrest or his case were released Friday evening. Yeckley will be arraigned Monday morning in Mentor Municipal Court.

The Mentor Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Michael Yeckley. Yeckley, 21, of Willowick, is a suspect in a rape case, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page. Yeckley was last seen driving a 2003 black Chevrolet Cavalier coupe with an Ohio license plate, FCL5285. The police ask that civilians do not approach Yeckley. Instead, call the police immediately.
