Mentor Superintendent Featured in Latest Prelude Photography Video

The video looks at "A Day in the Life" of Matthew Miller

It's been nearly a year since Matthew Miller introduced himself to the community as superintendent of Mentor Schools, but there still may be some things you don't know about him. To fill in any gaps, Prelude Photography presents a six-minute feature on Miller as part of its monthly "Day in the Life" series. The videos attempt to shed light on the backgrounds of key people in various industries and they jobs they do in the community. Prelude owner Matthew Huested produces and posts the videos on the business' Facebook page. Ever wonder what time the superintendent wakes up to fulfill his duties? How about his education or how his kids handled relocating to Mentor? It's all in Prelude's video, which can be viewed above.

Prelude Photography Presents Video Profiles of Key Community Members

The profiles highlight key people in Mentor and the functions of their jobs

Each month, a Mentor photography firm will give people a glimpse into the job of a different member of the community. Prelude Photography, a Great Lakes Mall tenant, has introduced its "Day in the Life" series in an attempt to shed light on the backgrounds of key people in various industries, how they impact Mentor, and support their families. Watch Prelude's first profile on Great Lakes Mall Marketing Director Renee Lanzara by clicking the video above. "I just wanted to do more community stuff," Prelude owner Matthew Huested said. Superintendent Miller: What We're Seeing is Copycatting

Matthew Miller discusses the recent threats at Mentor Schools

It's clear to Mentor Schools Superintendent Matthew Miller that the recent gun and bomb threats exemplify a trend of imitation among some students. "I think what we're seeing this week is copycatting," Miller said in a phone interview Friday before four assemblies at the three middle schools and Mentor High School. "But on the safety side, we have to treat every threat as a possible danger to our kids and we take it very seriously. "We're doing some more things in the buildings so that student access is either limited or watched. We want our kids to be safe and this week has been pretty trying." Matthew Miller: These behaviors must stop

Mentor Schools Superintendent Matthew Miller posted a letter on the district website Thursday in response to bomb threats this week at middle schools in the district. Ridge Middle School students were evacuated Thursday following a bomb threat. Mentor Police, school officials and a bomb-sniffing canine from Geauga County Sheriff's Office searched the school and believed the threat to be a hoax. On Tuesday, a student who is suspected of writing a threat on the wall at Memorial Middle School and causing a bomb scare was arrested and charged with inducing panic.
