St. Mary was your resounding favorite
We asked who served your favorite fish fry and your answer was resounding. St. Mary of the Assumption. St. Mary received more than four times as many votes as the runner up -- St. John Vianney. Now that doesn't mean St. John Vianney (or any of the other nominees, for that matter) fry a subpar fish. It just means we have a clear, runaway favorite. By the way, you can add your parish's or restaurant's fish fry to our event calendar. It's a good way to let people know about it. Thank you to everyone who nominated a fish fry and voted in our poll.

It's a good way to let people know about it.

Tell us where to go for the best fish fry in Mentor
It's the season of the fish fry and the next Mentor Patch Readers' Choice poll will ask where is the area's best. Starting Wednesday, we'll have a poll and you'll be able to vote for your favorite. In the mean time, we need your nominations. Where do you go every Friday? Is it at a restaurant? A parish? Tell us in the comments. Check back on Wednesday to vote for your favorite – the winner will be announced at the end of the week.

What sacrifice, if any, are you making this Lenten season?
Lent began this Wednesday and we're curious what -- if anything -- are people giving up this season. Yes, we realize that not everyone is Catholic; but everybody can benefit from some self-betterment. Right? Feel free to share your ideas in the comments... as long as those ideas aren't profane or insulting to other commenters. Also, while we're talking about Lent, feel free to add your church's or organization's fish fry to our events calendar.

Everyone's got opinions. Patch is the place to share them.
Welcome back to "You Said It," the place where you get to sound off. This week, we're talking to Lake Catholic students and asking them what they gave up for Lent. See what sacrifices Jacob Klauer, Matt Mulligan, Kelly Stenger and Brandon Kosec are making. Then come back every day this week for more answers. Join the conversation. Log in to post a comment or video answer, or e-mail me at jason.lea@patch.com.
