Man Sentenced To Jail For Hitting Girlfriend With Beer Bottle
Joshua Nasca pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to six months in jail
Joshua Nasca -- the Mentor man is accused of partly severing his girlfriend's ear after he flung a beer bottle at her -- pleaded guilty to a charge of assault last week in Mentor Municipal Court. Nasca, 25, originally faced a charge of felonious assault. However, he was allowed to plead to a lesser count of misdemeanor assault last Monday instead. Acting Judge Paul Miller sentenced Nasca to 180 days in jail -- the longest sentence he could have given him for that charge -- according to online court documents. Once Nasca gets out of jail, he will also be on probation for a year. Nasca had gone out with his girlfriend that evening. However, when they returned home, he wanted to go back out.
