A man convicted of revealing himself at a Mentor tanning salon was sentenced to jail Friday
A Cleveland man convicted of exposing himself to an employee of a Mentor tanning salon was sentenced Friday in Mentor Municipal Court. Joseph Leslie, 61, will spend 10 days in Lake County Jail and another 30 on electronically monitored house arrest. As part of his punishment, he will also have to receive counseling and stay away from the tanning salon where he revealed himself. Judge John Trebets also put Leslie on probation for the next two years. In November, Leslie walked into a Mentor tanning salon. He and the salon attendant -- a 20-year-old woman -- were the only people in the business at the time, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said at the time of Leslie's arrest. A Mentor man was convicted of public indecency after he exposed himself in a Mentor tanning salon. Joseph Leslie pleaded no contest to the charge Monday afternoon in Mentor Municipal Court and was found guilty. Judge John Trebets did not sentence Leslie, 61, of Cleveland, Monday. Instead, he ordered a presentence report so more information could be gathered on Leslie first. Leslie's sentencing hearing has not been scheduled yet. A Cleveland man walked into a Mentor tanning salon Saturday morning. Joseph Leslie, 61 and the salon attendant -- a 20-year-old woman -- were the only people in the business at the time, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said. The attendant told police that Leslie stared at her for awhile without talking. Then she noticed that he had exposed and was pleasuring himself, Powers said. Next, another man -- one of the salon's customers -- walked in. So Leslie stopped what he was doing and ran away. The attendant called police, who found Leslie in a nearby store, Powes said. Leslie was charged with public indecency and arraigned Monday morning in Mentor Municipal Court. He pleaded not guilty and is being held on a $3,000 bond. His next court …
