A dozen local restaurants will show off their wares during this week's Old Village Market Days

People can get A Taste of Mentor from 4 to 8 p.m. during today's Old Village Market Days at James A. Garfield National Historic Site. Of course, if they want more than a taste, they can get that, also. A dozen local restaurants will offer free samples of some of their signature dishes. The restaurants include: Also, as with each Old Village Market Days, the farmer’s market will feature locally grown produce, arts and crafts, and many other products for sale by dozens of vendors. Face painters, balloon artists and musicians will also entertain the crowd. Moreover, all Market Days are free to attend. Visitors can also tour the park's grounds, including President James Garfield's home, for free.
All-you-can-eat pasta dinners will also feature performances from the Mentor High School Jazz Band
The Music Mentors will hold its fourth annual pasta dinner to benefit the Mentor Schools bands from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mentor High School. An $8 ticket buys an all-you-can-eat Italian dinner, provided by Mama Roberto's with bread from the Great Harvest Bread Company. The Mentor High School Jazz Band will perform twice at the dinner. Music Mentors Vice President Denise Shaw said the pasta dinner is one of the biggest fundraisers the booster organization has each year. All the money raised from the dinner supports Mentor High bands. Shaw wanted to thank the events sponsors, including the Diamond Centre and Willoughby Dairy Queens, which donated dessert, and Sam's Club, which provided the napkins, plates and cups.
