Calendar Of Holiday Concerts Coming Up In Mentor

The holiday season means silver bells, high school orchestras, acapella choirs and more music all month

Love you some Jingle Bells? Can't get enought of This Christmas? Well, you're in luck because there will be a holiday concert almost every day in Mentor for the next few weeks, so here's your primer to make sure you don't miss out on a single silver bell. Monday, Dec. 3 The Mentor Middle School Orchestra -- comprised of all the middle schools in the Mentor Public Schools district will perform 7 p.m. at the Mentor Fine Arts Center. Tuesday, Dec. 4 The Shore Middle School Choir Concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Mentor Fine Arts Center. The St. Gabriel’s School community will hold its Christmas Concert also at 7 p.m. in the Lake Catholic auditorium. The Mentor Senior Center will host its annual Hillcrest Band Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. …

Journey tribute band plays pair of free concerts at Mentor park

The city of Mentor's summer concert series continued Tuesday with a performance from Arrival, the Journey tribute band. And while the tunes may have been Journey's, the stage was all theirs. Hundreds of people gathered at Civic Center Park to hear "Open Arms," "Don't Stop Believing" and other famous Journey hits. The concert was sponsored by Lake Health. The free outdoor concerts will continue from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday through July 31. The remaining performers are:

Mentor Concert Series Continues With Journey Tribute Band, Arrival

Arrival welcomes you to Civic Center park with open arms

The city of Mentor's summer concert series continues with a performance tonight from Journey tribute band, Arrival. They will welcome music lovers with open arms from 7 to 9 p.m. at Civic Center Park's amphitheater. Arrival is comprised of six veterans from the Cleveland rock scene and they will play all the Journey hits you remember and adore. And the music doesn't end after tonight. The free outdoor concerts will go from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday from tonight through July 31. (To get a sampling, check out our video of the Doo Wop Kingz' performance last week.) Video: Lake Catholic Alums Return for Cougarpalooza

The annual concert draws alumni from four different decades back to the school

Lake Catholic alumni can come home again. Moreover, they can rock once they get there. Lake Catholic students, past and present, marked homecoming weekend with the third annual Cougarpalooza concert. Five bands, all with Lake Catholic alumns in their membership, performed in the school's gym. Cougars also got a chance to play games, win giveaways and, most importantly, see one another.

Lake Catholic Hosts Cougarpalooza Tonight

Cougars and Lake Catholic alums can enjoy the annual concert after the homecoming game Friday against Benedictine

Almost every high school homecoming weekend includes a football game and a dance. But how many have a rock concert? Lake Catholic does. Lake Catholic students and parents -- both current and alums -- are invited to the third annual Cougarpalooza. It will begin 9 p.m. Friday at the school after the homecoming game against Notre Dame Cathedral Latin. Five bands, all with Lake Catholic alumni, will perform. They are: Rock bands will play on the main stage in the gym. Those who prefer something a bit quieter can listen to acoustic acts in the atrium. There will be Cougarpalooza T-shirts for sale and giveaways throughout the night. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students or children who are 8 and older and free for any child younger than …
