American Community Survey Paints Mentor by the Numbers
The annual Census Bureau poll shows up-to-date demographic information
Home values may be dropping around the country, but not in Mentor. According to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, median home values here have increased since 2000. That year, median home value was $147,400. Now, the value is $174,000. That information comes from the 2005-2009 American Community Survey, an annual poll that the helps describe how Americans live. The most recent estimates were released in December. The data is used to guide local policies, and determine how $400 billion in state and federal funds are allocated, according to the Census Bureau.
