Moms Talk: A Holiday Watch List

What movies and specials do you and your family watch each year?

Each week the Mentor Patch Moms Council answers a question on parenthood posed to them by readers or another member of council. This week our question is: It's the holiday season. Hanukkah begins this Friday; Christmas is three weeks away; Kwanzaa starts the 26th (or, at least, so says Google.) It may sound trite but one of my favorite parts of the season is breaking out holiday TV specials. My wife is a sucker for the 12 Days of Christmas. I'm a Muppet Family Christmas kind of guy. What holiday specials do your families love? Peanuts? For Better or for Worse? Justice League? POLL: Is 'A Christmas Story 2' a Disaster or Genius?

The straight-to-DVD sequel has gotten lots of reaction but it's not pretty.

Not only is A Christmas Story a holiday classic, but it's a Cleveland favorite.  The original movie was filmed in Cleveland featuring the former Higbees department store and the home on W. 11th St. in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland has become a tourist destination. Fans quote lines from the movie year round and revel in the marathon showings around the holidays.  But a sequel?  When Warner Brothers announced a straight-to-DVD sequel A Christmas Story 2 will hit stores on Oct. 30, fans bristled.  Why would anybody would mess with the nostalgic tale of a boy's yearning for a forbidden Christmas gift.
