Fire Station 5 is the headquarters for the Mentor Fire Department. In addition to housing fire trucks, ambulances and the on-shift battalion chief, it also contains the city's police and fire dispatching center. The station was built in 1971 and remodeled considerably in 2003. The Mentor Fire Department also provides ambulance and emergency medical services for the city's citizenry. It is overseen by Fire Chief Richard Harvey.
