Winners Picked for United Way of Lake County Super Raffle

Raffle raised more than $44,000 for the local chapter of the Lake County

The picked the winners of its Super Raffle Friday afternoon at Great Lakes Mall.

The local chapter of the United Way has spent the last few months selling tickets for a chance to win prizes, including a 10-day stay in Hawaii, free massages for a year, a 5-course meal for six at Gavi's restaurant and more.

The fundraiser earned more than $44,000 for the charity.

Todd Crocket pulled the names of winners from a tumbler while live on the air with Ellen Foley Kessler and David Lynch of WELW radio station. Crocket -- along with his sister Melissa Crocket-Willis -- is the co-chair of this year's fundraising campaign.

David Nelson won the 10-day stay at a private condo in Maui; Joe Cocozzo won a 7-day vacation in Hilton Head, SC; and Jill Murphy won four passes to Disney World with hotel and airfare included.

The raffle's proceeds go to UWLC, which, in turn, helps the social programs and people in Lake County.
