United Way of Lake County Hosting Corn Toss Tournament for Charity

Last year's tournament raised more than $10,000

The is holding its annual corn toss tournament Oct. 1. However, teams must register by Sept. 23 to participate.

The registration cost depends on how many teams a company, group or organization wants to sign up.

It costs $500 to register two teams, $900 to sign up four, $1,200 for six and $1,500 for eight. Each team has two players.

Last year the tournament raised more than $10,000 for the local chapter of the United Way.

In related news, the between / at Classic Park raised $3,400 for the United Way of Lake County.

“This is the first time we have played the game for charity,” said Samantha Matheson, the marketing team lead for Ladies & Gentlemen. “We try to do a lot with United Way of Lake County, so we thought we’d get together with John Robert’s – who also does a lot of work with charities – and thought it’d be a fun thing to do for a good cause.”

The Lake County Captains donated Classic Park for the game and a percentage of the concessions.
