Mentor Soccer Club Collecting Equipment So Everyone Can Play

The club is accepting gently used cleats, shin guards and other soccer equipment for kids who cannot afford them

Dan Radigan, one of the trustees for the Mentor Soccer Club, doesn't want any kid to not be able to play because of money.

So he and the rest of the club are collecting gently used cleats, shin guards and soccer balls for children who cannot afford them.

People can drop off equipment anytime at  gas station at 7777 Lake Shore Blvd. or from 3 to 5 p.m. this Saturday at .

If the club collects more equipment than they need, the extra will be sold at a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 27 also at .

The money from the fundraiser will pay the club's registration fees for those who cannot afford it.

The Mentor Soccer Club has given kids from 4 to 18 years old a place to play soccer in the city since 1969.
