Lubrizol Raises More Than $162,000 for United Way of Lake County

The Lake County business raised an additional 7 percent more than it did last year for the local chapter of the United Way

Lubrizol's Wickliffe facility raised more than $162,000 for the 's annual campaign, as well as another $88,000 for other chapters of the United Way.

"Our culture is one of giving back to the community and it always has been," said Dan Sheets, the president of Lubrizol Additives. "There’s not a better vehicle than United Way of Lake County to give back because they are very effective and efficient in distributing funds to programs in need."

More than half of Lubrizol's employees participated in the 4-week campaign. Retirees alone donated almost $20,000.

"At Lubrizol, we feel pretty fortunate to be working for a company that is doing well and we feel privileged to give back to people in our own community who are less fortunate," said Matt Gieselman, the company's technology manager. "United Way of Lake County is an organization in which we know our dollars are going to help people in our own community."

In addition to the $250,000, Lubrizol's Painesville facility raised another $26,000 for the United Way.

The local chapter of . Money raised during the campaign benefits 74 partner programs that the nonprofit organization funds. These programs focus on senior citizens, health and human services, children, families and basic needs.
