Still Time To Volunteer For United Way's 'Day Of Caring'

Businesses and organizations still have time to volunteer and participate in service projects throughout the area

The is still looking for volunteers to help with service projects during its annual .

While more than 50 businesses in organizations have already volunteered to participate, more than 100 service projects have been submitted.

That means several opportunites to help those who need it may be missed if more people don't volunteer

On the Day of Caring, area companies, schools, service clubs and other interested individuals volunteer to adopt 1-day projects that have been submitted by local nonprofit organizations.

The projects can be on behalf of people in need or organizations with limited resources.

For example, previous Day of Caring projects have included building a ramp for a wheelchair-bound senior and helping refurbish the grounds at .
