Leave canned goods by your mailbox today and it will be donated to those who need it
The National Association of Letter Carriers are having their annual food drive today (May 12.)
This means that if someone leaves canned goods by their mailboxes, Lake County letter carriers will pick them up and donate them to local food banks.
All the food collected in Lake County stays in the county.
This is the largest 1-day food drive in the country. More than 70 million pounds of food was collected last year.
