Journey tribute band plays pair of free concerts at Mentor park

The city of Mentor's summer concert series continued Tuesday with a performance from Arrival, the Journey tribute band.

And while the tunes may have been Journey's, the stage was all theirs.

Hundreds of people gathered at to hear "Open Arms," "Don't Stop Believing" and other famous Journey hits.

The concert was sponsored by Lake Health.

The free outdoor concerts will continue from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday through July 31.

The remaining performers are:

  • July 3 – Pop Tarts – Your favorite 60s girl group songs, as sung and danced to by four energetic gals.
  • July 10 – Driven – Dance to music, ranging from country to rock to disco and more.
  • July 17 – Replay – You’ll love listening to the hits from the 70s as played by this superb horn group.
  • July 24 – Shockwave – A six-piece funk/soul band with a repertoire that includes tunes from Motown mainstays, funk grandmasters and even Joe Cocker and Jimmy Buffett
  • July 31 – Chance – This incredible 10-piece show dance band plays everything from Sinatra to Motown and more.
