Photo Gallery: Civil War Encampment At James A. Garfield National Historic Site

Encampment featured camp life, firing demonstrations, mini militia for kids and more

Gunsmoke, war cries and marching music filled the air at the James A. Garfield National Historic Site during its fourth encampment to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War this past weekend.

Re-enactors drew in hundreds of visitors, giving them a glimpse at what life was like during the Civil War.

Tents dotted the grounds featuring 1860's weapons, medical equipment, uniforms, music and camp life with appearances by Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglas and James A. Garfield.

Check out the photo gallery above for a better look into the encampment.
