Mentor Concert Series Kicks Off Tonight

Hear everything from Motown to Journey to Sinatra and more for free this summer in Mentor

The annual Summer Concert Series returns to the Civic Center Amphitheatre behind this summer.

The free outdoor concerts will go from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday from tonight through July 31.

This year's performers are:

  • June 19 – Doo Wop Kingz – All your favorite hits from the 1950s sung beautifully in 3-part harmony.
  • June 26 – Arrival – Take the “Journey” with this amazing classic rock tribute band.
  • July 3 – Pop Tarts – Your favorite 60s girl group songs, as sung and danced to by four energetic gals.
  • July 10 – Driven – Dance to music, ranging from country to rock to disco and more.
  • July 17 – Replay – You’ll love listening to the hits from the 70s as played by this superb horn group.
  • July 24 – Shockwave – A six-piece funk/soul band with a repertoire that includes tunes from Motown mainstays, funk grandmasters and even Joe Cocker and Jimmy Buffett
  • July 31 – Chance – This incredible 10-piece show dance band plays everything from Sinatra to Motown and more.

The concerts are sponsored by several area businesses.

Visitors should bring blankets or lawn chairs and a picnic dinner to the concerts.
