Beatles Tribute Band BritBeat Headlines Mentor CityFest

The Chicago-based band performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Jerome T. Osborne Stadium.

The biggest challenge for Beatles tribute band BritBeat's performance at Mentor CityFest will be choosing which hits to play from a legendary catalog.

Their solution is to give the crowd a glimpse of all of the iconic band's eras.

"The show begins with what we call the 'Ed Sullivan era,' with songs like 'She Loves You,' 'I Want to Hold Your Hand'—fun, danceable, classic Beatles hits," said Chris Getsla, who plays Paul McCartney.

From there, Getsla and his Chicago-area-based bandmates journey to the "psychedelic" era with hits from albus like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and the Magical Mystery Tour. They'll finish up by transforming the set into a studio and performing "Revolution," "Here Comes the Sun" and more.

The show is from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 24 at Jerome T. Osborne Stadium.

They'll also be accompanied by an Ed Sullivan lookalike who will MC their show, which is their first in Mentor. BritBeat has performed across the country, from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas to the Florida Keys.

"We're familiar with the Ohio area and we actually enjoy it a lot," Getsla said. "This is our first time in Mentor, but we hope it won't be our last.

"We hope to create a new fan base."
