USA Youth Olympic Hockey Team & Nick Magyar To Play For Bronze

Team USA will square off today against loser of Canada-Finland for the bronze medal

The USA Youth Olympic Hockey team, which includes Mentor High sophomore Nick Magyar, will compete for the bronze medal against the loser of the Canada-Finland matchup.

Team USA had a chance to play in the gold medal game but fell 5-2 to top-seeded Russia Friday.

This was the second time the USA and Russia hockey teams squared off at the Olympics. The first time, Russia won 7-1 to earn the top seed.

"We are going to play with pride," USA forward Nick Schmaltz said of the team's final game to www.innsbruck2012.com. "We do not want to be fourth."

Magyar plays for the Cleveland Barons Midget Minor team and was the only Ohioan selected for the Olympic team.
