Mentor Tops Twinsburg, 49-0

Mentor is on the road again next week with a matchup at Brush.

The Friday night 49-0 victory over Twinsburg was the type of game Mentor coach Steve Trivisonno has been waiting for all year.

“We were impressive today. We were really good in all phases of the game,” he told OhioVarsity.com.  “All year I have wanted to see the guys go out and dominate and they did that. We were focused and came out with a lot of energy and played very well.”

Quarterback Conner Krizancic was particularly efficient, completing 9 of 11 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns. He also added a 76-yard touchdown run.

Corey Plavcan, Alex Matthews and Jarrell Jackson all scored touchdowns. The Cardinals got the party started early with some trickery — a halfback pass from Eddie Daugherty to Brandon Fritts for a 45-yard touchdown.

“All the credit goes to the offensive line," Krizancic said. "I have 4 or 5 seconds sometimes to throw the ball. And our receivers and Eddie can be unstoppable.”

The game ended early in the second half after a lightning delay.
