Mentor's Kent Berger Commits to Ohio University

The junior will play for the Bobcats in 2014.

Another standout from Mentor's junior class has already decided where he will play football in 2014.

Kent Berger announced last week that he will play for Ohio University.

Both Brandon Fritts and former Mentor quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who left for UNC in January, have decided to play at North Carolina.

“Proud to say I committed to Ohio University and couldn't be more excited. Can't wait to be a bobcat!” the junior tweeted last week.

“Thanks to everyone for all the support and congratulations really appreciate it,” he wrote a few hours later.

Berger, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound junior, carries a 4.0 grade point average and hopes to major in marketing or engineering, according to OhioVarsity.com.

“I loved the coaching staff," Berger told Ohio Varsity. "The campus is beautiful. The academics are very good. There was really no downside to it for me."
