The Mentor Cardinals may have played their final football game of the school year in November, but they are still receiving awards for their memorable season in which they went 12-2 and reached the state semifinal.

Several Cardinals were recognized during The Cleveland Touchdown Club Charities awards banquet Saturday.

Steve Trivisonno, along with Kirtland's Tiger LaVerde, received Co-Coach of the Year honors for Lake and Geauga County.

Wide Receiver Brandon Fritts was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year for Lake and Geauga County, along with Kirtland's Damon Washington.

Furthermore, Adam Watson -- a defensive end who plays for Case Western Reserve University and graduated from Mentor High School -- was recognized as one of the John Peyton Memorial Individual College Most Valuable Players.

Finally, it wasn't just Cardinals who were recognized Saturday. Lake Catholic Defensive Lineman and Toledo recruit John Stepec was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year for Lake and Geauga County.
