The Classic draws teams from Ohio, Michigan and Canada, said MFSC Vice President Sue Clemente. The teams were divided by skill level and age. Skaters ranged in age from elementary age to adults.

Competitors included Mentor's own Ice Diamonds.

Synchronized skating is a relatively new form of figure skating. The Ice Diamonds, for example, have been around 13 years.

The sport is like a combination of dance and synchronized swimming in which teams of skaters perform choreographed routines on the ice.
