Mentor & Lake Catholic Students Place at State Track & Field Tournament

Find results from this weekend's tournament at The Ohio State University.

Four students from schools in placed in events at the State Track and Field Tournament at The Ohio State University.

Two boys from Mentor High School earned top-eight spots, and Mentor's 4x400 Relay team also placed in the Division I tournament. Two Lake Catholic girls placed in the Division II tournament.

Here are the students from the community who placed, according to results posted on the OHSAA's Baum's Page:

Boys

  • John Maurins, Mentor junior, Shot Put, 3rd place
  • Eddie Daugherty, Mentor sophomore, High Jump, 7th place
  • Mentor 4x400 Relay team (Jaylen DowdyAustin Hankins, Darren IngramMarc Walton), 8th place

Girls

  • Joanna Hallisy, Lake Catholic senior, Shot Put - 3rd place; Discus - 6th place
  • Frances Bull, Lake Catholic sophomore, 400 Meter Dash, 8th place
Mentor finished No. 23 in the boys team rankings, tied with Chardon and Davidson. Lake Catholic girls finished No. 19, tied with four other schools.
