Lake Catholic Knocked Out Of Playoffs By Hathaway Brown

For the second time in two years, Lake Catholic has fallen to Hathaway Brown in the regional final

It happened again.

For the second consecutive year, the girls basketball team was one win away from competing in the state tournament only to be stopped by Hathaway Brown.

Lake Catholic lost 52-37 Friday night, ending their season.

They only trailed Hathaway Brown by four points (33-29) at the end of the third quarter. However, Hathaway outscored them 19-8 in the fourth.

Katlyn Spahar and Delani Stopp led the Cougars with nine and eight points, respectively.

In the last six years, Hathaway Brown has eliminated Lake Catholic five times.

"It's hard to lose like this the second year in a row, but we couldn't ask for anything more from our seniors," Lake Catholic junior Katlyn Spahar told The News-Herald.
