Band, Cheerleader, Fan & Football Photos From Mentor Vs. Ignatius

Here are some photos from Mentor's big game against St. Ignatius.

Mentor's home football games are always about more than just the sport.

They play out as community gathering events, with people loudly and proudly displaying spirit and pride for their team and home town. Children dress up, the Fighting Cardinal Marching Band and color guard put on a halftime show and cheerleaders inspire the crowd.

Though last Friday's game resulted in a loss to St. Ignatius, Mentor's student section held a "greenout" in memory of Michael Robinson, a Lake Catholic High School graduate whose body was found at his Ohio University dorm room.

Here are some images from the game taken by photographer Katherine Kurkov. She frequents various events in Northeast Ohio and posts galleries to her Clicks by Kat website. She is offering free downloads from the Mentor-Ignatius game, but encourages people to make a donation to their favorite charity instead of paying for the images.
