Watch: Hopkins Principal, Teacher Go The Full Potato For United Way Of Lake County

The Hopkins Elementary staff rewarded their students for raising more than $2,000 for United Way by dressing up as Potato Heads and dancing for them

Sometimes motivating elementary school children means getting a little silly but Hopkins Principal Larry Luciano is OK with that.

He and Hopkins teacher Kylie McKnight dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, respectively, and danced to Psy's Gangnam Style for their students during their lunch break.

The students earned the reward by raising more than $2,000 this week for United Way of Lake County.

The children donated money to the charity so they could wear pajamas, crazy socks and hats to school this week.

All totaled, they and their families raised $2,176.84 for United Way of Lake County.

Luciano and McKnight have used this sort of motivational technique before. Two years ago, they dressed as clowns for their students. .
