Students Will Auction Artwork for Mentor Schools Foundation

Auction of student artwork will raise money for grants that go to Mentor Schools teachers

Students at Mentor Schools will be auctioning their own artwork to raise money for grants that go to their classrooms.

The auction, which has the theme Celebrating Diversity Through Art, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. April 29 at .

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Mentor Schools Foundation. The foundation, in turn, supports the school district via grants that pay for classroom equipment, programs and field trips that the district could not afford otherwise.

The Mentor Schools Foundation started in 1985 and, since its inception, has given more than $120,000 in grants to the school.

Tickets to attend the auction cost $20, which also pays for drinks and appetizers.

The attached flyer says that the foundation stopped selling tickets on April 11. That is not the case. They have extended their deadline, so order tickets while you can.
