Students Auctioning Their Artwork For Mentor Schools Foundation

The annual art auction will be held tonight at Gallery One

The Mentor Schools Foundation will hold its annual art auction from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at .

Students from all of the schools in the Mentor district have created pieces of art that will be auctioned to raise money for the foundation.

This year the auction's theme is Harmony Through Art.

Tickets for the auction cost $20 and include beer, wine, appetizers, desserts and the opportunity to bid on art work created by Mentor students.

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Mentor Schools Foundation. The foundation, in turn, supports the school district via grants that pay for classroom equipment, programs and field trips that the district could not afford otherwise.

A recent grant helped buy new equipment .

The Mentor Schools Foundation started in 1985 and, since its inception, has given more than $120,000 in grants to the school.
