The Mentor Schools Board of Education has selected Kerilyn Boergert for the Mentor Library Board of Trustees and will officially appoint her to the new role during the School Board meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Boergert has lived in Concord Township for about 10 years with her husband and their three children.
She works as a state and local tax manager at SS&G, Inc. in Solon. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
Her term begins immediately and will end December 31, 2019.
Boergert said she is thrilled to have this opportunity to give back to the community.
"The Mentor Public Library is such a wonderful resource for the members of our community," she said. "I have three young children who I love to take there, and I can’t wait to get started working with a board who shares the same passion for raising awareness to the importance of literacy and community."
Boergert was selected from several candidates by a group including School Board members Mary Bryner and Thomas Tuttle and Library Board of Trustees Amy Frank-Hensley and Diane Wantz.
Mentor Schools Superintendent Mr. Matthew Miller and Chief Financial Officer Daniel L. Wilson also served as non-voting members of the selection committee.
"Applying for the Library Board of Trustees is a tremendous commitment to community service and we are certainly grateful for the high level of interest in the vacant position this year," Bryner said. "Mrs. Boergert’s passion for education and reading made her stand out as an excellent choice for the seven year term."
"While several qualified individuals applied for the position, we are excited to extend this opportunity to Mrs. Boergert." Tuttle said. "Her previous work experience, both professionally and as a volunteer, will undoubtedly make her an asset to the library and its patrons."
