Mentor Students Can Participate in International Walk to School Day

Orchard Hollow and Sterling Morton students and their parents can join staffers from the Mentor Recreation Department for a walk to school

The city of Mentor is once again participating in International Walk to School Day, an event that supports healthy habits and safe, walkable neighborhoods.

Parents of students who wish to participate are asked to RSVP with Maggie Kuyasa of the Mentor Recreation Department. They can call her at 440-974-5720 or email at kuyasa@cityofmentor.com.

People are asked to register no later than Oct. 3.

Walk to School Day began in the United Kingdom. The city of Chicago participated in 1997. By 2002, more than 3 million walkers in 50 states had joined in.
