Mentor Schools BOE Congratulate Athletic, Academic Standouts At Meeting

From spelling to gymnastics champs -- Mentor Schools had a lot to celebrate at its most recent Board of Education meeting

The Mentor Schools Board of Education met Tuesday evening and they used the meeting as an opportunity to celebrate the athletic and academic accomplishments of several of their students, including:

  • Kevin Nguyen and Emily Penkowski,
  • Penkowski and Tyler Elston, the Mentor High School American Legion Post 352 Americanism and Government Test winners
  • the high school's and the Lake and Geauga Counties Secondary Art Award winners
  • the Mentor High School Interactive Media Student teams
  • , the Mentor High swimmer who qualified for the state championship
  • , who qualified for the state tournament for the first time in the school's history
  • the members of the

Also at the meeting, the Board approved a $223,000 window replacement project for and a $232,000 roof replacement for .
