Mentor School Board Discusses Replacing Jamie Callender

School Board looking for applicants who are interested in joining the Mentor Public Library Board of Trustees

The Mentor Schools Board of Education is looking for a replacement to fill Jamie Callender's spot on the Board of Trustees.

Callender resigned so he can , which he announced earlier this month.

Applicants must submit a letter of interest  by July 13, which should include the person's:

  • Place of residence
  • Length of time residing at current address
  • Reason for interest in serving on the library board
  • Community involvement and service experience
  • Names and contact information for up to three individuals who may serve as references

The applications will be reviewed by school board members Alan Mihok and William Shaw, one library trustee, Mentor Schools Superintendent Jacqueline Hoynes and CFO Daniel Wilson.

This committee will recommend one person to the board of education for appointment. The board will appoint a trustee no later than August 11.

Library trustees are appointed to terms for seven years and there are four years remaining on Callender's term, which ends Dec. 31, 2015. The term would begin for the new trustee upon appointment.
