Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce Names Mentor Schools Its Civic Organization of the Year

MACC surprised Superintendent Jacqueline Hoynes with the award during its meeting Wednesday

The Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce named its civic organization of the year.

The MACC surprised Mentor Schools Superintendent Jacqueline Hoynes with the award during its meeting Wednesday.

“Not only has the district been financially responsible with the taxpayers' dollars, which we appreciate, the high level of community involvement is impressive,” MACC President Randy Verdi said, according to a release on Mentor Schools website. “You all care so much and it really shows. We want to say thank you and congratulations.”

The MACC recognizes a person, business and civic organization every year. It has not named its person or business of the year yet.

Last year, the chamber recognized  as the business of the year, George Maier as citizen of the year and the  and Friends of the Library as the civic organization of the year.
