Fairfax Student Named National Artist of the Week
Fifth-grader Simon Ukotic beat out 11 other young artists across the country
A 5th-grader from Mentor holds tops honors in the country this week for artwork inspired by his hometown.
Simon Ukotic of Fairfax Elementary School has been named Artist of the Week by Artsonia, an online children's museum of artwork. Simon's portrait of two cardinals earned 1,368 votes in the 4th-6th grade category on Artsonia's website.
Simon beat out contributions from children in California, Texas, Missouri, Nevada, South Carolina and Ohio.
