Applicants Interviewed for Mentor Public Library Board Vacancy

Mentor Schools Board of Education expected to pick library's new board member on July 27

Representatives from the Mentor Schools administration, its Board of Education and the Mentor Public Library Board of Trustees interviewed eight applicants to fill the vacancy created when  from the library board.

The eight people who applied to replace Callender are Ron Balog, Mike Grubar, Kurt Helfrich, Darya Klammer, Sonja Maier, Michael Nowacki, Patricia O'Donnell and Diane Wantz.

They were interviewed during a Mentor Schools Board executive session by school district's Superintendent Jacqueline Hoynes, CFO Daniel Wilson, School Board members Alan Mihok and William Shaw, and Library Board members Lowell Davis and Harry Fishleigh.

The Mentor Schools Board is expected to name Callender's replacement during a special meeting July 27. If they cannot agree on an appointment by August 11, then it becomes the responsibility of Lake County Probate Judge Ted Klammer.

Meanwhile, the School Board will have to fill a vacancy of its own when on Aug. 1.

The Board is from those who would like to serve the rest of Corban's term, which ends in December 2013.
