Annual Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast Benefits Mentor Schools Foundation

Park of the breakfast's proceeds will go toward creating a technology lending library for the school district

The Mentor Schools Foundation realizes that you have plenty of turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie to eat this Thanksgiving.

However, they ask -- if you knew it was for a good cause -- could you, perhaps, make room for a little breakfast?

The foundation will host its 12th annual Thanksgiving pancake breakfast this Thursday morning at Yours Truly restaurant.

In return for a voluntary donation, people can enjoy pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice.

The proceeds from the last three breakfasts have helped sponsor the schools Science Olympiad teams, update the high school's planetarium and buy equipment for the Cardinals Autism Resource and Education School (CARES.)

This year, a portion of the funds raised from the pancake breakfast will be
used to help create a technology lending library that will make technology, such as iPads, iPods, and other devices, available to all classrooms in the Mentor School system.

The Mentor Schools Foundation started in 1985 and, since its inception, has given more than $120,000 in grants to the school.
