Ann M. Anderson passed away unexpectedly Saturday at University Hospital in Cleveland.
Anderson, 49, was born February 21, 1963, in Akron and lived there until moving to Concord Township 25 years ago.
She was a second grade school teacher for 15 years at St. Mary of the Assumption School in Mentor.
"She was a very loving mother, wife and excellent teacher -- very vibrant, very strong in her faith and very giving," said Sharon Bassett, the assistant principal at St. Mary.
Bassett said that Anderson was instrumental in helping students prepare for their First Communion. Also, she would organize annual caroling trips for students to local retirement homes around Christmas.
Anderson is survived by her husband James Anderson; children Jonathan, Christopher and Meghan Anderson; mother Frances Yahner of Stow; 4 sisters Julie (Caryn Thornburg) Panis of Tracy, California, Mary (Joe) Hassing of Littleton, Colorado, Jean (Carl) Rakich of Medina and Catherine (David) Murdock of Akron; mother and father in law Marilyn and Bob Anderson of Copley; 2 brothers in law Mike (Chris) Anderson of Kenner, Louisiana and Rick (Cindi) Anderson of Monroe Falls. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends and will be missed by her pomeranian “Poochie.”
She is preceded in death by her father Alvin Yahner and her brother Thomas Yahner.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Private family inurnment will be held in All Souls Cemetery at a later date.
