Mentor Residential Home Sales Grew in 2012 Q4

Sales finished strong in both Mentor and Lake County

Last year ended with strong home sales in both Mentor and Lake County.

Data in Mentor City Council's most recent memo shows that residential sales for the final quarter of 2012 grew by 21 percent in Mentor when compared to the previous year's fourth quarter. The county's sales rose by 11 percent during the same period.

The average Mentor home sale price during 2012's fourth quarter was $143,322, a 9 percent increase. The county's average sale price jumped by 17 percent to $147,995.

The amount of days homes remained on the market in Mentor dropped by 47 percent, compared a 13 percent decrease for the entire county.

The city's memo said Mentor Realtor Todd Crockett of Howard Hanna supplied the data.
