Weather Has ODOT Behind Schedule on State Route 2 Project
City Manager Ken Filipiak discussed delays, resultant lane closures on Center Street during the City Council meeting Tuesday
Inclement weather has the Ohio Department of Transportation 30 days behind schedule on its timetable for the State Route 2 widening and rehabilitation, Mentor City Manager Kenneth Filipiak told
This delay has also affected traffic on Center Street, as ODOT continues to close lanes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. so the State Route 2 overpass bridge can be painted.
Similarly, there are still lane restrictions by the entrance ramps from Center Street to State Route 2 so ODOT crews can pave.

Filipiak did not have a timetable for when the crews would be finished on Center Street. He was not confident they would be finished by the It's Better In Mentor festival next weekend.

- Council approved the resurfacing of Bellflower Road from Route 306 to Route 615. It involve repairs to the street's concrete and catch basin, as well as chip sealing and an asphalt pavement overlay.
About $300,000 of this project will be funded by a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission.
The project will be done from June to August 2012, as to avoid conflicts with and
