Congressman Steven C. LaTourette (R-Bainbridge Township) talked with members of the Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce Wednesday morning at as part of the Chamber's & series.
LaTourette discussed some topics that were on his mind -- -- as well as answered questions from members of the Chamber.
Ron Traub, the city of Mentor's director of economic development, asked if LaTourette was concerned about the amount of the country's debt that China has bought.
LaTourette replied that he is. He added that he recently traveled to China and one of the officials he met asked him, "How is our money doing?"
The congressman also said that the economic engine that allowed China to buy so much U.S. debt has slowed as the country's own middle class emerges.
